Hi, I’m David 👋
I’m a father, software engineer, vintage computer collector, Apple enthusiast, singer, caffeine addict, and general geek living and working in the suburbs of Kansas City.
My Work
I spend my days making government work better as a Lead Software Engineer at CivicPlus. Currently, I am mainly responsible for our Single Sign-On, Integrations, and Payments solutions, but I have spent time contributing to several other products in our portfolio including Municipal Websites, Mass Notifications, and our white-label mobile application.
I also dabble with iOS app development. I currently have one app in the store:
- Wrist Pipe, which was inspired by my time as a competitive singer
My Hobbies
You may know me from my podcast with James van der Moezel, called The Blue Bubble Podcast (formerly The r/Apple Show). It ran from January 2018 through June 2023. Over that time we got the opportunity to talk with several amazing people.
I am a third-generation member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. During my tenure I’ve had the opportunity to sing with several talented groups on both the district and international competitive stages. These groups include the Cody Choraliers, Not For Nothing, Central Standard, and The Brovertones.
I collect and restore vintage computers in my spare time. I studied electrical engineering before I went down the path of full-time software development, and working on older computers is a great way to keep my skills from atrophying while also building a small museum. Some articles have been written about my collection.
